We recommend this optional refresher course for our students who want to review all 18 sessions. The key focus of this class is to go over key points that students can expect to find on the state real estate exam.  The class is taught by one of the AARE instructors and will key in on important aspects of each of the 18 sessions.  We recommend attending all 18 sessions before attending this class.

Didn't take your real estate course with AARE?

No problem!  You are welcome to attend this course regardless of whether you attending AARE for your licensing program.  It is often times helpful to get a fresh perspective of the topics covered on the Arizona Real Estate Exam and we are continually updating our cirricuium to keep our students up to date on what to expect at the state exam. You will also receive a study packet that you can use to further study for the exam.

 A Checklist for Obtaining an Arizona Real Estate License

 

1 Complete AARE's 90-hour Sales Prelicense Course

 

 

2 Pass AARE's School Examination

 

  • Students must complete all sessions prior to taking the school examination
  • Students register for the school exam on the AARE website
  • Students must receive a score of 80% on one school exam to receive the Prelicensure Education Certificate

 

3 Pass the Arizona State Exam (Pearson) with a score of at least 75%

 

 

4 Complete the 6-hour Intro Contract Writing class

 

  • This class can be taken at any time. You will need to complete this class before you can activate your real estate license.

 

5 Obtain a Security Clearance Card from the Department of Public Safety

 

  • The application is provided in the back of the Student Manual
  • This process takes approximately 4-8 weeks

 

6 Apply for a real estate sales license at Arizona Department of Real Estate, 2910 N 44th Street #140, Phoenix, AZ 85018. ADRE will accept applications for processing Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

  • Prelicensure Education Certificate
  • State Test Passing Certificate(s)
  • Original Licensure Questionnaire – Form LI-214/244
  • DPS Security Clearance Card
  • Intro Contract Writing Certificate
  • Broker Hiring Form – LI-202
  • License fee of $125
  • Real Estate Recovery Fund contribution of $10

Continuing Education Credit: 3 hours Contract Law/ 3 hours Legal Issues

Whether it's your first or your fiftieth contract it is important to be prepared.  This class will teach you everything you need to know about the contract required for listing and selling a house. 

  • Get the practical knowledge you need to be confident in filling out contracts with your clients. 

  • Be able to answer their questions when they want to know why they are signing a contract.

Intro to Contract writing satisfies the Arizona Department of Real Estate's requirement for contract writing course prior to activating your license.

Requirement Changes In Effect for New Agents

Licensees are now required to obtain a Security Clearance Card prior to getting a license.  An application form must be completed and submitted to the Department of Public Safety along with a fingerprint card and a money order for $69.  The waiting period can be between 4 weeks to 6 weeks.
